Yes, we accept all types of housing vouchers and rental subsidies. However, the voucher or subsidy must be active and transferable at the time your application is processed.
If your voucher is not transferable, we will be unable to process your application unless your household income independently meets the property's income eligibility requirements.
-
Yes, we accept One-Shot Deals. However, we recommend starting the approval process only after your log number has been called and you have been contacted regarding unit availability, as we cannot hold a unit indefinitely while funding is being secured.
-
All properties listed on this site are currently accepting applications to replenish their waitlists only. While vacancies may be available at the time you apply, applicants must be contacted in the order that applications are received.
Each property page includes information about the current status of that property’s waitlist. You can also view a summary of all ELH properties here.
-
All applications for available properties must be submitted directly through this website using the Apply Now button at the top of the page or on individual property pages.
As part of the application, you will be asked to provide basic household information, including the number of people who will live with you, as well as estimated household income and assets.
Due to limited availability, applicants cannot currently apply to individual properties. Instead, you will have the option to select preferred boroughs. As units become available in those boroughs, applicants will be contacted in waitlist order based on their log number.
If your log number is reached, you will be contacted to confirm whether you are interested in the specific building and location of the available unit. If you decline a unit because it is not in your preferred location, your application will not be canceled. You will remain on the waitlist in the same position; however, you will not be contacted again for future vacancies at the location you declined.
-
If you have not received an email requesting documentation, your log number has not yet been called. Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we are unable to estimate when your log number will be called.
-
Once your log number is called, you will receive an email containing a list of required documents and instructions for submission. You will have 10 weekdays to submit the requested documentation. No extensions will be granted.
After your documents are submitted, a specialist will be assigned to review your file. If additional documentation is needed, the specialist will contact you and provide an additional 5 weekdays to submit the requested items.
Please note that when a unit becomes available, we contact multiple applicants at the same time. As a result, even if your log number has been called, you may be placed on a waitlist if another applicant submits all required documents, views and accepts the unit, and signs a lease.
If this occurs, your application will remain active in our system. Should another unit become available, we will contact you again regarding the opportunity.
